DELPHI INJECTOR BLEEDING PROCEDURE
Note: Failure to follow these guidelines carefully will cause irreversible damage to your injectors
- Â Fit injectors to vehicle, observing all cleanliness and torque setting requirements.
- Fit new HP pipes and torque as per the vehicle specification.
- Connect a scan tool and monitor the fuel rail pressures.
- Disconnect the metering unit (suction control valve) on the HP pump.
Caution: This will make the pump go into full fuel mode. DO NOT START THE VEHICLE with the metering unit disconnected. - Â Leave all injector electrical plugs DISCONNECTED.
- Crank the engine for 7 seconds.
- Wait for 10 seconds to prevent overheating of components.
- Crank engine for a further 7 Seconds.
- Check and make sure that the correct rail pressure has been achieved.
- Â Connect the injector drive cables and the HP pump cables.
- Crank to start the engine.
Note:
- Where possible, connect an external fuel supply to the HP Pump to ensure adequate fuel supply.
- Once the vehicle is running, ensure the car is driven for approx 10-15 minutes.
- If the vehicle is unable to be driven, ensure the engine is held at a raised RPM of approx 1500 – 2000 for 10 – 15 minutes.
